A Rocking November Promises More P and TH Beats
Today is Thursday and Pop-Culture Week just got PTHed. Thanks the 5th Annual Fashion Rocks and ‘08′s MTV Video Music Awards, Pigeon and Tokio Hotel have become America’s latest obsessions. Unfortunately Pigeon fans got the short-end as the band flew the coop last week on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
But the self-titled fashion-rockers boasting Heather Chase, brought down the fashion-house Prada-style in NYC last Friday. While Hollywood rocked out to Tokio Hotel, nominees for VMA’s Best New Artist Moonman.
The power-duo revved up the red carpet Sunday at the VMA’s, taking fashion to the extreme. Pigeon masterminds; Erik Monk and Chase, presented Tokio Hotel with a Moonman for Best New Artist. “The first of many surprises for our American fans!” TH’s Bill Kaulitz announced during the acceptance.
PTHed – Tokio Hotel reps announced plans for a tour this November, with guests Pigeon. Pigeon’s record head, James P. Chase, also confirmed. Both bands still remain tight-lipped on rumors of collaboration. This has been Pop-Cultured.
America’s Best New Artist: Oh Mein Gott!
This year’s MTV Video Music Awards was a night of surprises for Tokio Hotel and fans. The German heartthrobs claimed to have “no chance of winning.” But thanks to hardcore fan-voters and real talent, beat out Miley Cryus, Katy Perry, Jordin Sparks, and Taylor Swift. Hotel now claims status as America’s Best New Artist.
The guys arrived by monster truck emblazoned with the Scream! album art and blaring hit, Ready, Set, Go. Minutes later, sexy Bill Kaulitz stormed the red-carpet. His look? – leather vest, the usual suspenders, silver chains, and amazing hair. Only squeeze HG might rival such taste, arriving in a bodice of see-through metal crosses.
Stopping cheerfully to chat to about fashion, debate who’s arrival was the best (theirs of course!), and confirm that vampires are way better than unicorns, TH made their way to front row seats.
This year’s Best New Artist – Tokio Hotel. “Oh Mein Gotte!” wickedly-webbed Kaulitz thanked fans everywhere. “The first of many surprises for our American fans!” he promised. Looks like Tokio Hotel domination is here!
Red Rug Recap
Flashbulbs popping, all eyes were on The pseudo-religiously garbed American Icon, Heather Grey Chase. Upon arrival an alarmingly skinny Chase seemed hell-bent on upstaging boyfriend Kaulitz’s earlier monster of an entrance.
The Pigeon lead wore a titillating designer combo. Multi-colored, breast-revealing stone and metal cross covered, backless bodice by Chanel and black leather cigarette jeans with matching sin-inched heels by Givenchy. This outfit put to the test the leather-vested, trussed ensemble offered by Kaulitz, even with his signature mile-high hair.
